A portable hoop is fine until it tips over in the wind or slides around every time someone drives to the basket. An in-ground install is a completely different experience - solid, stable, and built to stay put no matter how physical the game gets.

Here's what we were working with: a clean asphalt driveway with a nice brick paver border alongside it. The goal was to get this Goaliath hoop set with a proper concrete anchor so it wouldn't budge. That means digging down to the right depth, getting the footing square, pouring the concrete, and letting it cure before the pole ever goes up. No shortcuts.

The post pad you can see at the base of the pole is exactly what a solid install looks like. The pole sits centered and perfectly plumb - that matters more than most people think. A hoop that leans even slightly will affect the bounce and the feel of every shot. We take the time to get it right before we ever set the hardware.

This kind of work sits right at the intersection of what we do. Concrete work for the anchor, site prep around the landscaping to keep the surrounding area clean - it's a two-part job done in one visit. The end result is a court-ready setup that'll handle years of use without any wobble or drift.

Whether it's a weekend pickup game or a kid grinding on their shot every afternoon, a well-installed hoop makes the driveway the best spot on the property. This one is ready for all of it.
