Here's what we were working with - a front yard that was basically bare dirt and a backyard with no real structure, no usable outdoor space, and nothing tying the property together. This is the kind of yard that looks fine from a distance but feels unfinished up close. The goal was simple: fix it front to back and give this homeowner something they'd actually want to spend time in.

Out front, we installed Kentucky bluegrass sod and built a clean block retaining wall along the foundation bed. Fresh mulch, new shrubs planted in a thoughtful layout, and suddenly the whole front of the house has a look that actually matches the home itself. The lawn goes right to the sidewalk edge - thick, green, and even. No patchy spots, no bare ground.

The backyard was a bigger job. We poured a stamped concrete patio that flows right off the existing deck, giving the homeowners a solid, low-maintenance surface with real visual appeal. The stamped finish adds texture and character without the cost of pavers. Along the perimeter, we installed a custom horizontal wood fence - the kind of clean, modern style that's popular right now for good reason. It defines the space, adds privacy, and looks sharp.

Then came the lighting. This is where the yard really comes alive after dark. We ran landscape lighting along the fence line and up-lit the evergreens planted along the back border. The result is a backyard that feels intentional and inviting at night - not just functional. It also adds a level of security and visibility that you don't get with a dark yard.

When everything was done - the sod, the retaining wall, the planting beds, the stamped concrete patio, the fence, and the lighting - this property went from rough and unfinished to one of the nicer-looking homes on the street. That's what a full-scope project can do when every piece is planned and executed together.
